Conventions of a Contents Page
There are many features of a contents page. There's a certain layout to a contents page, and has an order that's easy to follow. There's pages numbers, and these are in order to make sure it's clear what's going in what order in the magazine. There's also pictures that relate to the topic of the page number that sit beside the caption on the left. Also, details are placed at the bottom of the page for people to write in, and there's terms and conditions too.
Conventions of a Magazine
There are many features of a college magazine, which are different to a regular magazine. There are a few features that are the same, like the title, which is crucial because everyone needs to know what the mag is called. Subtitles are important because they also help the audience know what's going on. A date and address are featured on the magazine so everyone knows what issue it is. I think the target audience for Secondary Magazine are teachers or people who would like to become teachers. The picture that's on the front refers to education, which is a big hint who this magazine is for.
The Brief
Preliminary Results: using DTP and an image manipulation program, produce the front page of a new school/college magazine, featuring a photograph of a student in medium close-up plus some appropriately laid-out text and a masthead. Additionally, you must produce a mock-up of the layout of the contents page to demonstrate their grasp of DTP.
Main task: the front page, contents and double spread of a new music magazine. All images and text must be original, produced by you - minimum of four images.
